Natural Living Design & Build is not a contractor, it is a consulting fir that helps home owners manifest their dreams of living in a natural structure and works with contractors. You will not be considered an employee of the Natural Living Design & Build team, rather an employee of the home owners. This means you are a sole proprietor or you can open an LLC or Corporation under your name for liability and tax purposes. In California, you are not legally allowed to work as a contractor without a contractors license. You are only allowed to build under the homeowner who is acting as the general contractor under the owner builder permit. Therefore your performance and pay will be reviewed weekly by the foremen and project manager to assure the homeowner is receiving the highest quality of professionalism. We cannot guaranty work, because the building industry is volatile and sometimes unforeseen circumstances may cause work to stop or be postponed. As a sole proprietor or an LLC, you should have money saved up to get you buy during times of unemployment. If you don’t have at least a 3 months of living expense saved up. Please do not apply. If you do not have health insurance please do not apply.
